Story (Part 2) ----->
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4074090/2/ Discussion: Updated finally. Thank goodness. This was the chapter that when I was re-reading it, it made me realize that (in my mind, anyway) Naruto and Gaara could be interchangeable as seme and uke. I know that's a considerably obvious thing to point out, but I often thought of (and see) Gaara as the seme. Maybe I'm biased because of his height, but he seems more fit to be a uke. That's not to say he doesn't have seme qualities...I mean, come on. He's a lean, mean, killing machine. I don't expect him to just lay down and take it up the tail pipe. Off-topic.
This chapter was strange in that both Naruto and Gaara seem a bit OOC at times. This chapter works better if you can immediately read the events that follow it, but consequently, I had to split it there. As a result, one may go, "Hm...Zat vas a bit veerd." It cannot be helped. On a weird note, someone mentioned how they liked that Gaara is described as patient and kind, and when I think about it, those two words are repeatedly used to describe him throughout the story. I was very glad to read this, because I hadn't really thought about how controversial it could be. This really only applies if one is considering Gaara's past--more specifically, his crazy killing days. To call him "patient" and "kind", well, they almost seem like terms that would suit a character like Naruto better. Still, when my mind replays the actual manga scene, and the events with Gaara following the time-skip, he is patient and kind! At first glance, one might think he'd be forward in getting what he wants, but I feel he would be rather reserved...especially with Naruto. That's really my only defense of this chapter. I am almost finished with the last part of the story, however, but be prepared, because it's a tad explicit...That's really all I can say...
Other than that, there's not really much to say about this chapter. Something funny I noticed when glancing through it a bit ago, is that Gaara gives the second cup of sake to Naruto, knowing that he didn't like the first cup. AND, since the Peace Cup is defined as the sharing of a cup, its really only required to drink one. Hm. Do you ever have those moments when you think the characters are acting on their own in a story? It seems rather suspicious. Nevertheless, I actually enjoyed writing it at the time, as I remember, but understanding someone else's reading of it it is always a bit different.
