Another great book is What is Poetry? Conversations with the American Avant-Garde.

All Poets Welcome: The Lower East Side Poetry Scene in the 1960s and its Table of Contents.

Poets Anne Waldman and Lewis Walsh edited The Angel Hair Anthology. Linda Russo provides a Review

We Who Love to Be Astonished: Experimental Women's Writing and Performance Poetics by Laura Hinton and Cynthia Hogue is reviewed here

By the way, a superb collection of contemporary poems by American woman is The Extraordinary Tide: New Poetry by American Women.

Of interests to students might be poet Lyn Hejinian.

Two articles on Ron Silliman and Gertrude Stein are located on Suite 101.

An advanced search for avant-garde led to these results.

e e cummings is a poet to consider.
