Now we interrupt our normal service for a special birthday post
Hi, everyone!
This isn't your usual icon post, I'm already warning.
You see, this month two lovely ladies on my f-list celebrated their birthdays, and I wanted to give them... something, if only not to let it pass without at least a mention. But, well. I'm sort of unemployed and poor (lol), and I sort of live way too far from them. I thought "OH, CHOCOLATE, EVERYBODY LOVES CHOCOLATE", but it would melt in an international trip. D:
Thus, this post was born. Firstly, I was going to post this on my personal journal, but, well, why not to post it here where more people can know all about these great girls? And you can snag the icons/wallpapers if they're relevant to your interests. Or just leave your birthday wishes, I'm sure they'll love it :D
The first thing that comes to my mind when I think about zombres is WHAT AN AMAZING WRITER SHE IS. Seriously, guys. She's not only a great, smart, funny, adorable person with great taste in fandom and who always post amazingly relevant to my interests things, she's also really talented. I'm not saying that because I'm a nice person or because it's her birthday month, but because IT IS.
Proof of that is The Lito which you should START READING RIGHT NOW. The Lito started with that casting picspam meme that went around sometime ago on LJ, and gained epic proportions. No, by epic, I really mean, Epic. The picspam turned into a series of fantastic short stories.
You see, her story revolves around the ancient Greek Gods and Godesses and Heroes, only they're even more ancient than usual, because it has been a couple thousand years since Ancient Greece. They have to live in the present days with it's troubles, while still keeping their powers, which leads up to all kinds of shenanigans. Her characterization is FABULOUS, the characters completely relate to what you think the Gods would be like, while still keeping some spice that I'm going to call Angie-ness. Someone has to buy this story for tv. I'd totally watch it.
She's also writing Weird, USA, a novel born from NaNoWriMo that will totally get published sometime soon, and you should be sure to get Angie's autograph before she's too busy with press and fangirls and papparazzi to give you one. i_sing_anyway is her writing blog, WHY AREN'T YOU FOLLOWING IT YET?
And for Angie and all the Lito fangirls (it HAS a solid fanbase already, I'm telling you.), I made some icons! Mostly because, well, it's the only thing I think I know how to do.

You might have noticed that I talk about stillxmyxheart A LOT here (and well, everywhere else). It's because she's one of my hot lover bestest friends online and one of the first people to really welcome me into LJ. The existence of this community is her fault, guys, because she told me "hey you should totally make a comm for you icons because people would like them" and I was "no way" and she was "yes way" and sort of obligated me to do it. And I'm really glad for it :D
Mary is a really cool gal and is online 24h a day. Haha no, I'm kidding about that, even if sometimes it looks like it. She's nice and funny, really lovely, is always willing to help and is a neverending supplier of glee and squeeing and fangirling. She's also a fantastic writer too, she has written about a hundred fics, specializing on those of the Doctor/Rose kind. You can read them at her journal, stillxmyxheart, and at then_theres_us. The girl multitasks and also dabbles on icon and graphic making, check them out at ofstars!
