It was huge.
Massive.
New years weekend was amazing! Jez, Mark and I made our merry little way up to Sydney and headed straight for Bondi. The streets were packed, and we met up with Sam and Ricardo for some chow before we hit the beach where the stage was set up for Fatboy Slim and few other DJ's. The sun set and the lights came on, we were given special glasses to wear that made all the lights scatter smiley faces everywhere, it was trippy. Hoards and throngs of wasted fans, dancing and drinking and spinning round, wicked!
When Fatboy came on at the countdown, i was beyond trashed and havin' a blast. We were right up next to the stage and a few brave folks tried climbing up and running over to the turntables, but each one was grappled down by security personnel, it was awesome. The big finally was Praise You, and everyone went off! This was at about 3am and we didn't have anywhere to stay so we hit the clubs. Went to The Columbian (yuk) and Stonewall (yay). The sun came up and we all decided to crash at Ricardo's place, thank christ.
It was hot, fucking 45 degrees, fucking blistering. Bit of a hangover, but we all made our way over to David's place who was having warm up drinks before Home Sexual, this big gay rave that was happening at Home that night. By now I'd gotten my head back in the right space to get off my face again, which i did at around 4 in the afternoon (Home Sexual was actually going from 4pm to 7am, crazy). Warm up drinks went for way longer than everyone planned, and we rocked up at Home at around 8, and fuck, what an awesome club! Three levels of mayhem right in circular quay, it was insane!
Danced hard all night, met some really cool people, hung out with David and his friends. Met Mark; blue eyes, lip piercing, scottish. Kisses were had. *kiss*
At about 4am we piled into the car and left for Canberra believe it or not. Me and Jez passed out pretty much instantly; good on you Mark for not crashing the car and killing us all. In closing I'd just like to say drugs are bad m'kay. I've decided to lay off the party perscriptions for a while, a long while, I don't like what it's turning me into. No regrets here though, what a kick ass weekend!
and...
Happy Fucking New Years Everyone!
