Janeite Tag: Seven Questions
I was tagged by the wonderful birdienl, so here goes! :)

My introduction to Jane Austen: My memory is a little fuzzy, but I think it was because my Mom mentioned that I might like the A&E miniseries of Pride and Prejudice. Naturally, she was right! After that, I gobbled up other adaptions, and then the books. It's all a haze to look back on.
Fun fact about my Janeite life: I've never really taken to the word "Janeite." I feel like that is a word for a descendant or something. But I can't think of any term that works better, so Janeite will do. :)
1. About which secondary character in the Jane Austen novels would you love to read a full novel? (for example: Kitty Bennet, Sophia Wenthworth) How would the story go (or if you've read a good book/story about this, give a summary)
Such a tough question! Firstly, I'd like to know if William Price ever found a lady willing to wait for him, like Captain Wentworth. Secondly, I'd like to know what became of Mary Crawford, and if she ever fully recovered from her attachment to such an unflappably serious and stubborn young clergymen.
2. In which of the mansions/houses Jane Austen wrote about would you like to live?
Expenses NOT considered, Pemberley! Expenses considered, Barton Cottage or Longbourn. :)
3. What do you like best about the Regency era?
The manners, language, and fashion. Being socially awkward and reserved, I love how their etiquette had a strict, often distant structure, especially when mixing with strangers. The language is beautiful and engaging, and the fashion elegant and a little more practical than Elizabethan or Victorian. :)
4. Have you ever been to a Regency/Austen themed event?
No, alas, I have not!
5. What is your least favourite Austen adaptation and how would you improve it?
There are a few I haven't even bothered to watch, but of the ones I did, I would say the 2009 Emma. In this adaption, Mrs. Elton was more elegant and refined than Emma, and that rankled me very much. So I'd have Emma be more subdued and sophisticated.
6. If Lizzie for some reason could not end up with Darcy (sorry...) what other Austen hero do you think she could have married?
Henry Tilney is the first one that comes to mind (though, Lord, the combined mischievousness that would result)!
7. If you could have tea with Jane Austen, what would you most like to ask her?
Provided she was up to speed on the modern world, I would ask her what she loathed most about her day and age, and what she would have loathed most about my day and age. And then ask her what she liked best about both. :)
