Books and Horses

My To Be Read List is so long, I'm coping by revisiting Marguerite Henry. She's the reason I get at least one horse calendar every year. My first introduction to her was an old copy of Misty of Chincoteague that my Dad had as a kid. Totally and completely fell in love with her writing style, and her books launched me into an obsession with horses ( Read more... )

Aw, I loved that book/film as a kid. I always wanted a horse.

So the film was good? I'd never seen it, or even known it existed until I looked it up earlier today.

Hee, I guess pretty much everybody on my f-list has wanted a horse. :D

Pretty cute. I think it wasn't a *real* professional film so not all of the acting is the best (you don't really notice that until you rewatch it as an adult) but it's nicely done and there's some pretty scenery. (:

Hehe,.I used to climb into the horse stalls at the fair as a little kid to "hug" the horses and my mom would always have to apologize and drag me out. :P

Hee, that's all I ask, so long as it was shot on a location that worked. :)

Awwwww, I don't blame you for trying to hug the horses at all! Probably would have done the same thing, or wanted to.

(BTW, LOUIS! *flails* I don't talk about vampires much here, but I recently read The Vampire Lestat and LOVED IT.)

Hehe, scenery makes everything better. If I recall correctly, I think it was filmed on Chincoteague.

I loooved the fair animals growing up. I live in the city so it was the only time I saw anything other than dogs or cats, so I was forever trying to get closer to pet everything. :D

(OOOh, yay! I just watched Interview With The Vampire yesterday for the first time and absolutely adored it.)

WOOHOO! *happy dance* That's perfect!

I hear you! Lived in the suburbs all my life, so the only glimpses of horses I got were a few in my neighborhood.

There's just something about Interview with the Vampire that's subtly addictive. :)

Yep, just checked, and it was filmed on location. :D

Aw, yeah. <3

For sure! :D I watched it for the actors really (as uncool as it is I inherited being a Tom Cruise fan from my mom, lol) but ended up loving it in general.

Oh, on the contrary, inherited fanship is very cool! A lot of my fandoms/favorite actors were inherited. :) And really, who doesn't want to watch Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Antonio Banderas, and mini Kirsten Dunst in costumes and fangs? ;)
