I SAW CELTIC WOMAN LAST NIGHT

And I'm trying to arrange my thoughts to form coherent sentences. It's not quite working.

IT WAS SO AMAZING AND GORGEOUS I'M STILL FREAKING OUT!!!

Let me see if I can compose myself . . .

OH WAIT I CAN'T!

At the beginning of the performance, I could swear the ladies on stage were fairies, or mermaids with legs, or something that wasn't human. That's just how magical the atmosphere was. My BFF (who actually was able to make it after all!) said she'd heard Celtic Woman's lives were magical, but she hadn't believed it until then. Now we're both enthralled believers.

"Nocturne" here was one of my favorite songs of the performance--but this video really doesn't do the song or Chloe Agnew full justice. You've got to take this, imagine everything dark, with just a faint, filmy haze of light here and there, and then imagine an angel's voice piercing and dancing through curling smoke. That's what it was really like.

And for a minute I'm just going to fangirl about Chloe, because she's amazing. The woman is living testament to the fact that you don't have to fit into a size 4 dress to be beautiful, talented, and successful. She's adored just the way she is.

Now for Teir Abhaile Riu, hands down the most fun song of the night. Before this song even began, Chloe and Lisa Lambe (the redhead that looks the most Irish of the bunch) surprised everyone by walking around the first few rows set apart from the rest, singing arguments at each other. We were in the 17th row, and while the view was pretty fair for the price I paid, at that moment, I really wished I'd gotten a few rows closer. LOL.

For a few seconds, Chloe even plopped right down to sit on an older gentleman's lap, still singing away, while the rest of the audience just gaped. The guy just sat there like a statue, as if he were watching it happen to somebody else. It was hysterical.

I'm so attached to previous member of Celtic Woman (Meav, Orla, Alex, and especially Hayley Westenra), I really wasn't all that excited about Lisa Lambe or Susan McFadden (a blonde lady taking the place of Lisa Kelly while she's with her family) at first. That changed about five minutes in. Now I adore them, too.

"Green Grow the Rushes" was very special, because Chloe got the audience to sing along during the refrain. It was so much fun, even though she had to be really patient, because most of us were too shy to sing it out like we meant it. :D

By the way, AREN'T THEIR DRESSES JUST AMAZING?! Gah.

I really loved the two Broadway songs they picked, though I agreed with my friend, they must sing at least one song from Phantom of the Opera sometime. THEY MUST.

Okay, now I have to go off twirling to work. :)
