Blast from the past

Ugh. Been a bit under the wind lately. Got a running nose and a sore throat, and maybe some fever at some point, but the damn flu just doesn't seem to be able to make up it's mind on whether to strike or not. Stupid viruses.

I'll hit the gym tomorrow, though. That should make it either go away or go so bad that I can stay in bed with a good conscience.

Oh, and on a more positive note, I managed to find a Sega Megadrive collectors edition from a local supermarket. It was on discount to boot, only 30€ and came with a bonus pack of ten games. Been playing it like crazy for the past few days, and can't wait to invite some friends over to try it out, once they come into town for the weekend.

Altered Beast, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage... oh man! So many good memories!

Poem of the day:

Asleep in the light, awake in the dark
a wild flame burning deep in it's heart
a breath on fire, fangs of steel
is it a dream or is it too real?

In the concrete jungle it prowls by night
somewhere just out of your sight
eyes flashing hungry'n cold as ice
promising only a painful demise

It blends into the dark city's empty beat
into the shadows of a back alley street
it will do what all predators do
as it got it's eyes fixed on you

Fur'n leather, claws'n steel
a scent of blood upon it's heel
you can run but you cannot hide
it stalks in the shadows right by your side
so scream if dare, and look if you can
upon this darkest beast of a man

Some say it was always there
here in the city, everywhere
and some say the beast's of human hand
made for reasons none can understand

And there are stories that surely tell
that it used to be a man known so well
who chose believe, and chose to fall
to take his pain upon us all

But one thing is certain, make no mistake
the hunter is there all of our sake
to stalk us all, to hunt us all
'til our backs are against the wall

Fur 'n leather, claws 'n steel
a scent of blood upon it's heel
you can run but you cannot hide
it stalks in the shadows right by your side
so scream if dare, and look if you can
upon this darkest beast of a man
