Torn

I'm planning to do the online Rosetta Stone, and I cannot decide which language. Rhiannon has a little Spanish, and Ramon has some Portuguese and is doing the Spanish Rosetta Stone at work[1], so Spanish could be a family thing. I've never been terribly interested in learning Spanish on its own merits though. I studied German in high school and college, and have about a preschool level grasp of the language[2]. I would LOVE to learn more if just to stop being annoyed by German music[3]. Thing is, while I DO have at least 2 people to speak German with, it wouldn't be quite as useful. I'm also slightly intrigued by the idea of French. It might be useful if I ever run away to Canada, but it isn't a serious contender. Oh, LJ, tell me what to do[4].

[1]Where they have it available for use in the library.
[2]Maybe better than that actually. It was functional for use with German tourists when I worked at the Waikiki Aquarium. I am just insanely shy about it and WILL not speak it unless I have to even with people who love me and would undoubtedly be very sympathetic and helpful conversation partners.
[3]I can't really enjoy a song because my brain gets about 20-30% of the meaning and spends the whole time grasping for the rest of it.
[4]And then I will take your advice under consideration and make my own decision.
