I've been working for the Commonwealth Attorney's Office, and here are some things I noticed:
(Note: I'm not encouraging any of these criminal behaviors)
1. Posession of marijuana is a misdemeanor. Tampering with physical evidence is a felony. Don't committ a felony in an attempt to avoid being charged with a misdemeanor. (Many people do.) So if you're cought with marijuana, don't try to hide or conceal the evidence, just take the misdemeanor charge.

2. If you are trafficking drugs, do not do it from your home or car (or any property you own). If you do, the state can seize your property. If the property is not used in trafficking or bought with money from trafficking, it cannot be taken.
Exception to the rule: If you owe a substantial amount of money on the property it will usually not be seized, because the state can't make any money from the sale.

3. Never pay someone to committ a crime for you. They will rat you out to get their sentence reduced.

4. If you are arrested for a crime of which you are guilty, absolutely use your right to remain silent. Do not make up an alabi on the spot because you haven't had time to think it through and could easily slip up and say something stupid that can easily be disproven.
