Burn, baby, burn...

I suffered a second-degree burn yesterday right before I left for work. It's got a nice pink blister now and has finally stopped burning. It's only the latest in a series of accidents stalking those of us who work in the EDG branch ( Read more... )

Geeez, that *is* a very danger-prone workplace, hey do you get that compo payment thingy?

Workman's comp? My burn wasn't at work, so no. My boss didn't get hurt either at work. A lot of it's been when people haven't been at work, but the smashed toes and some cuts happened at work. Nothing that thankfully needed much more than a band aid.

Falling books hurt so fricking much though.

Luckily, I'm into my last week of working extra shifts. The week after next I'm back to my usual hours until I decide to leave.

I burned one of my fingers with 400 degree oil at my one job and ended up not telling anyone cause the managers were all jerks. I went through my shift waiting on people and then running over to the sink continuously to put it in cold water. It still hurts every now and then today like over 4 years later. I'm pretty sure I did some kind of permanent damage. I hope yours feels better soon.

FYI I think the daycare is now screwing me over even more just because I got that second job. I'll tell you about it when you get on next.

Yikes, 400 degrees? Stupid managers. Yeah, I did the cold water thing all during my shift too. Four years later it still hurts? Yikes, I think you're right about having done permanent damage.

Mine's already feeling better, thanks.

That daycare seems to live to screw you over. I definately want to hear about it next time I have a few minutes. I'm just doing a quick e-mail check. The power's about to go out--storms again.

I hope your foot's feeling better.
