Okay, I have this feeling that I made a big mistake trying to show mum my music vids and help her try to understand what I'm good at. She kinda exploded at the clips from the bathroom scene. She's a little crazy about violence and started a tirade on violence and how men shouldn't hit women, how it's not okay, blah blah. Yeah and me trying to explain how Jackson's not really as bad as he looks and trying to explain the whole movie with her upset didn't work so well.
And it wasn't like I showed her 'Pet' or 'Passive' or 'Bulletproof Skin', etc. I only showed her 'The Fantasy' and 'How To Save A Life'. She's lucky I didn't try to show her my writing--that would have sent her through the roof. Now I think I should sit down and explain the entire movie when we're on our way to my sister's this afternoon.
Grr, why can't she understand that it's interesting because of the characters and that's why I like it, not the violence? She's seen parts of it, so I didn't think she'd freak out like this. Now I'm worried that I'll be in trouble or that she'll send me back to therapy. She made a remark about that with "your temper the last thing you need to do is spend your time watching violence". And how could I "ruin sweet music with terrible clips" and she didn't get why I used the bathroom scene clips.
I finally get the courage up to show her some of my work and she flips on me. I'm dead meat, especially when she asks to see my writing for college and for the school's lit mag. Frozen dead meat, very dead meat...
This might very well be the end of BregoBeauty's writing/vidding/graphic editing career.
