Okay. Okay, you guys. This is kind of a massive post. I'm a little floored at the number of icons, especially since I spent most of March in a veritable icon funk, causing me to not finish a bunch of challenges I wanted to participate in. But there is that aforementioned Jane Austen battle and I got a little cap-happy with The Shannara chronicles

The extreme crop in 001 is so fucking awesome cuz it really gives a sense of great distance between the two subjects! I love that you can see only slivers of their faces. It's such an emotional crop! 003 also has an intense crop that's so intimate and really allows you to see the subject's vulnerability. It's rare to see someone's face from that superior angle, and I love the high contrast in that piece! 004 has that slight border at the top from a repetition of the image, and I can't properly express in words just how much I have always loved that effect. It's such a simple idea, but it adds so much detail to an icon. I also love how her face cuts off while you can see all of his in that piece. It's another beautiful detail that quietly stands out to me. The shadowing in 007! WHAT IS THAT? Can I have its number and take it out for dinner sometime? PLEEEEEEEEEASE??????? I promise to have it home at a decent hour! Screaming for the scenery porn and coloring in 018 and the blues in 019 and 020. Kill me.

YOUR 10IN30 SET IS FUCKING FLAWLESS. I CAN'T EVEN PROCESS IT. What is the text in 026, and why is it existing?! THE COLORS IN 029 MADE ME VOMIT. IT'S LIKE A RAINBOW WRAPPED ITS ARMS AROUND HER, AND IT'S PHENOOOOOOMENAL. The subtle map texturing, soft purple backdrop, and clean cutout in 030 make me cry with envy. WOW. You make gray, white, and black look like the most interesting tones in the whole world in 032. That icon knocks me dead cuz of the seamless balance between the light and dark.

I know you felt that virtual slap I gave you for 088. I KNOW YOU FELT IT. WHAT THE HELL DID YOU GO AND MAKE SOMETHING THAT GLORIOUS FOR?! TO TEASE ME?! THE MUTED COLORING AND SHARPENING AND NEWSPAPER TEXTURING ARE ALL MOCKING ME WITH THEIR PERFECTION. I DON'T APPRECIATE IT.

LOL but seriously, thank you *___* And special thanks for mentioning 4! That one has a slightly special place in my heart lol since for some reason I quite like the very short story arc between these two characters and the reason for her being half obscured is because it's a kind of "what if" icon, lol.

Oh god, my whole TV watching life is littered "what ifs" for characters I love and thought were better off with each other than whatever oh-so-obvious romantic fate the writers decided for them. 4 is fantastic, and like I said, that border on the top just drives me giddy with excitement cuz I love that detail and never get sick of it! I like knowing now that there's a backstory and a special meaning for you in that piece!
