With this senseless ringing?

1. As Houllebecq casually decried it, ours was the generation to do away with love's necessity. And yet unfathomably living in the room next to an ex, who would invite herself with her Argentine boyfriend. I would foppishly talk about Borges, show off my Pentax, complement the boy on a fine head of hair. The ex would pace with an unwarranted stern look, arms folded, told of how she'd only loved twice and was in no mood for recompense. The Argentine shuffled.
2. Cheating is wrong. In corporate environments, I am well used now to having swipe cards for clocking in and out. Some genuine cause must have aroused my sympathies; for here's me knocking security guards to the floor, erasing hard drives, up to my neck in it, employed covert, in cahoots, fake IDs and an unknown mission purpose.
3. Last night was the Ophelie's birthday party. The house had been laboured on and done up like some wondrous 50s pastiche, the records wove nostalgia, dance and karaeoke. People were cool.  I remember feeling the inadequacy of my limited bilinguals; something I should work on along with piano lessons that must be booked. I can't remember how I got home. Apparently, it got ugly from then on.
4. Must I really move this room to Spitalfields today? With this senseless ringing?
