Oh my days. The weekend was lovely. Nearly stayed out for a reasonable amount of time with Tim, Eleanor, Jerome and Alex. Spent Sunday in a radio communications office in Vauxhall with Phil, only to walk nearly 5 miles across London in search of rare PSUs. I walked past Parliament Square, and fulfilled a 6 year long ambition in meeting Brian Haw, the protestor who's been pitched there for going on 8 years, in defiance of the House (who have attempted unsuccesfully to remove his 'eyesore' of a protest in the high court) . Sat and spoke to him for nearly an hour. I just felt humbled, completely. Then carried on walking. Got headhunted by Scientologists eager to recruit me and sell me L Ron Hubbard's instant-classic, top of the bestseller lists no doubt 'Diegetics'... I'd nearly walked past, but had to stop, go back and inquire 'hey, isn't he a science fiction writer?' only to let the question linger. 'Yes' was the reply. These people are just so unthinking one can only laugh. Braced myself for some hectic proper media work. I'm covering London Fashion Week with work over two days, and then filming parts of the 30 Days of Fashion gala event happening tomorrow, editing through the night. Before I had chance to dash away to South Kensington this morning, I was snared by a journo who presented me home footage of her pet rabbit, Audrey. It would seem that Audrey has become quite the celebrity amongst the Allaboutyou.com blog fraternity. So, given creative carte blanche, I edited the below film. Whilst it moved the journalist who's rabbit it is to tears, her editor was less emotional. "I don't understand it", she implored in her warm Irish accent, "She's a grown woman crying at her own bloody rabbit". Anyway, enjoy the film.
