I was pretty sure as soon as I finished SIW that I'd be writing a sequel, so I'm glad you're excited. :D

Writing Damon and Elena together has been a challenge for my beta and I. Honestly, I don't even know what Damon looks like when he's happy, so I'm sort of figuring it out as I go along and trying not to make it too sappy. We shall see. LOL

I've just posted chapter two. Enjoy!

EEK! A sequel!! I'm so very excited for this fic. I don't read WIP's often (well, ever) and I've really missed the thrill of seeing a new update for Self-Inflicted Wounds. I absolutely adore that story and am so extremely glad to be back on board for this sequel.

I love the way you write. It's not flashy or overindulgent, but very real and descriptive in a way that lets me soak in the story. I always feel like I'm peeking in on a private moment and I'm so attached to your version of Damon and Elena.

Great job hun, keep up the completely amazing work!

...that you'd break your rule for me. ;p I promise not to let you down. Even if the idea crossed my mind my beta would never let me.

LJ made me split chapter two in half, so I really appreciate hearing that I'm not over-indulgent. I certainly FEEL overindulgent right now. LOL

I'm glad you're enjoying this version of Damon and Elena. It's been something of a challenge because I only have my imagination to go on as far as what they'd be like together - or what Damon would be like happy.

As I said, I've posted chapter two, so enjoy!

Oh goodness, I know what you mean! I had a series going with D/E that I got completely stuck on because- like you said- we have no idea what that would actually look like. You're doing a great job with it =D

I mean, I see your username on my friends page and I'm automatically excited. But a sequel to one of my favorite Vampire Diaries fics EVER? I'm not even gonna lie; I squeed. Like a little girl.

You have NO idea what's so ever how excited I was to see that you were not just writing a new story, but that it is a sequel to one of my all time favorite stories on here and over on FF. The way that you write the connection between Damon and Elena is so magical. Even more so now that they are admitting that they love each other and are in an actual relationship. This chapter was so great, there were so many things that I loved about it. One of the main things that I loved is how you were able to blend the past and the present together without it getting weird. Not everyone can do that. I totally thought that if Damon hadn't compelled the admissions staff to let Elena in to her dream school then he must of given them a big cash donation or something, lol. That too would be something he would do. I'm glad though that he kept his promise to her. That is so important in a relationship I feel, well in actual everyday life too. Anyway I'm wondering if their is more to Damon not wanting to go back to good 'ol Mystic Falls than he has let ( ... )

Writing Damon and Elena in an actual relationship is hard! LOL Seriously, what does Damon even look like happy? I'm having to make it up as I go along and rely on my beta and my readers to make sure I don't get too sappy. It's been fun, though, too - mostly because they like to fight. I mean, it's a total turn on for both of them so there's plenty of fodder for interesting conversations.

Anyway, I've posted chapter two, so the saga continues. I hope you enjoy and can't wait to hear what you think!
