Title:
The Family BusinessPodficcer:
sisi_ramblesAuthor:
flyingcarpetCharacter: Draco Malfoy
Length: 00:46:31
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Summary: "Malfoys have always had a good head for business, they have. Recognize an opportunity when it presents itself."
Why this is a good listen: This was simply a delightful time. I first listened to it when I was on my way to a friend's house and I was actually hoping that my trip would last a bit longer so that I couldn't listen to the entire podfic in one go. When I don't imagine Draco living happily ever after with Harry, this is what I imagine he'd be doing. To top off the great story,
sisi_rambles's voice is tailor made for podficcing. Go give this a listen and have a great time :D
Title:
A Bit o' MagicAuthor:
lash_larueCharacter: Argus Filch and Mrs. Norris
Length: 4750 words
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: None
Summary: The Caretaker and his cat have lived together for years, but now one or both of them are reaching their time.
Why this is a good read: Before reading this story, I never would have guessed that Argus Filch could make a compelling character. Filch was always just this background character in my mind. This story made me realize that Filch could not only be an interesting character but he could also be developed so much because no one really writes about him. Take a bit of time from your day, and go see how touching this story is.
Title:
FrederickAuthor:
icicle33Character: Neville Longbottom, Augusta Longbottom, Ron, Fred and George Weasley
Length: ~1600 words
Rating: PG
Warnings: (highlight for spoilers) *minor bullying, some fluff, a hint of angst, and a cactus named Fredrick (no detail)*
Summary: Augusta Longbottom wants her grandson to go play with the other children rather than sit home all day with his plants. Neville only agrees to go to the park if he can bring his cactus.
Why this is a good read:My first Neville story and what an adorable little story this was. The characterization of Neville is spot on. It's actually my favourite thing about the story. This is a pre-Hogwarts story but I have no problem thinking that this little boy grows up to be the Neville we encounter in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. None at all.
