Lovely reccs

Before I ever found LJ, I was reading fanfics of FF.net. I now know that some of my favourite authors are also established on LJ but there are some great stories out there that are still archived and updated on FF.net. So here are three stories that I love and first found on FF.net. Give them a try. :)
Each of the summaries were written by the author.

Title: Through the Mist
Author: NineteenTwentyone
Main pairing: Remus/Sirius (with a side of James and Lily)
Length: 13,829 words
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: None
Summary:Remus likes to spend his holidays working in his dad's sweetshop at the beach. One Easter he meets a group of teenagers, and one boy in particular promises to make this a holiday he'll never forget. Muggle AU.
Why this is a good read: This story isn't the longest I have read but everyone is chosen carefully. The end result in a delightful story about Remus and Sirius. I don't know much about British accents...and even less about Scottish ones but the way the author wrote Remus with his bit of Scottish is great. It's one of the few times where it does change the way I read the story and change it for the better.

Title: The Conservation of Fame
Author:lomonaaeren
Main pairing: Draco/Harry (with a side of Hermione/Ron)
Length: 57,429 words
Rating: R
Warnings: (highlight for spoilers) *mild angst, some violence, mind control and manipulation, sex, EWE*
Summary:Harry has secured some peace from the wizarding world the only way he can, using a spell that makes all but his closest friends remember the concept of the Boy-Who-Lived but forget about him as a person. It’s a nice life-until Malfoy stumbles through his wards, pursued by mysterious enemies, and Harry finds himself unable to refuse him help. Help that, in the end, could teach Malfoy that Harry isn’t the stranger Malfoy thinks he is, and make things unforgivable between them again.
Why this is a good read: I simply love the premise behind this story. I've always loved stories in which Harry avoids all the press and hides himself away after vanquishing Voldemort. But this is the first time I have seen it done in such a way. It's brilliant. Add to that a spot on Draco and you have the reason why I am reccing this story. Just give it a read and you'll know what I mean. <3

Title: The Darkness Within
Author: Kurinoone
Main pairing: mild Ginny/Harry (and it doesn't happen for a while)
Length: 364,868 words
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: (highlight for spoilers) *mention of child abuse, angst, some violence*
Summary:What if Wormtail hadn't told Lord Voldemort the Potters hideout. What if he took Harry straight to him instead? A Dark Harry fanfic. AU.
Why this is a good read: Yup. I am reccing a het story. This is a first for me. For me the story isn't about Harry's relationship with Ginny. The crux of the story for me is Harry's relationship with Voldemort and the Potters. That's the interesting part of the story. This story is the first part of a trilogy and if you give this one a chance and love it, you'll love the rest of this writer's work. As far as Dark Harry's go, this one is my favourite. There's enough darkness in him that we know he can't simply chance on a dime and become the pillar of light that he is in canon...but at the same time...there is some goodness in him. Harry's more complicated than that.

ship: remus/sirius, ship: draco/harry, genre:het, genre: slash, ship: ginny/harry, reccs
