Title:
The Prisoner's RemorseAuthor:
miss_morlandCharacters: Remus Lupin, Gellert Grindelwald (with implied Remus/Sirius and Dumbledore/Grindelwald)
Length: ~ 14 000 words
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: (highlight for spoilers) *angst, mind-fuck*
Summary:After Sirius Black's betrayal, Professor Dumbledore finds work for Remus Lupin as a prison guard in Nurmengard, where there are quite a few things to be learned.
Why this is a good read: I love this story. I love how it feels like it could be part of canon. We never really did learn what Remus did during all those years until he taught Harry. That's 12 years of emptiness. I've always loved Remus/Sirius and to see how you hinted at that relationship is lovely. How much pain Remus is in but how he is trying to stay in one piece. In this story, Grindelwald does not feel like a Lord Voldemort. He's his own cunning, ambitious and curious person. You can clearly see how a young Albus would have fallen for him.
♥ Title:
The Shard in the HeartAuthor:
snapelikeCharacters: Harry/Lord Voldemort
Length: 550 words
Rating: R
Warnings: (highlight for spoilers) *intense story*
Summary:There is this splinter from a troll-mirror in his heart, a piece of evil and eternity.
Why this is a good read: This story holds a special place in my heart because its based on one my prompt for my wishlist at
rarepair_shorts. This story gave me chills. There is nothing overtly graphic but the hints of how Voldemort has changed Harry are lovely. Its lovely and bitter sweet all at once. What a perfect way for my rare pair OTP to be written.
Title:
Chasing CarsAuthor:
lovegingersCharacters: Harry/human!Fawkes
Length: 1,946 words
Rating: PG
Warnings: None
Summary: Fawkes comes back after the battle, now a dashing fellow, and deeply in love with Dumbledore’s man.
Why this is a good read: What a great take on a really rare pairing. The characterization of Fawkes make this story. For a character that we know so little about, his essence was captured quite well. He seemed so other worldly, and yet so much like himself. It was a pleasure to read this story.
Title:
Through a Glass DarklyAuthor:
vividescentMain pairing: Regulus Black/Draco Malfoy
Rating: PG
Warnings: None
Summary: Based on "
All the Things of the World"
Why this is a good art: This is the piece of art that drew me to Regulus Black. I'd never before given him much though...but after this I started hunting for more. The colours are simply beautiful and the technique is even better. As an aside, I also recommend the story that this art is based on. It's beautiful.
Title:
Healing TouchAuthor:
vividescentMain pairing: Remus Lupin/Regulus Black
Medium: Digital
Rating: PG
Warnings: None
Summary: Remus is reluctant to trust the Slytherin, but the concern in Regulus's eyes and his soothing touch brings out unexpectedly romantic feelings in Remus.
Why this is a good art: The look in Regulus' eyes says it all. In one frame I get an entire story. How Regulus doesn't really want to be there but at the same time he's drawn to Remus.
