Wow....what a crazy few days - we have our dog and he's very cute and has a lovely temperment, curious but not nosey, gentle but playful and always thrilled, just thrilled to see you. The first night was horrible he pee-d ALL over the laundry and whined and howled all night, I ended up sitting up all night with him on the my lap so he would be quiet so P could get some sleep and sending frantic emails to the breeder asking how I might go about returning him and getting my money back!!! But the next day was heaps better, he's settled down totally and today has been fantastic. He has rediscovered the paper training he was supposed to come with and spends the day happily following who ever is in the house about and chewing his hedgehog toy. And he only whines for a little while after he's been put to bed...And he sleeps all night (thank god...thank you, thank you, thank you!!!)
He and Patrick are best buds, which is surprising considering this was a guy who swore he "wouldn't like it, and I shouldn't expect him to do anything with it", and we took him (Patrick and the dog) out and about today to start socialising him (in the hopes he might turn out to have the right stuff to be a therapy dog!) He went in the car to the pet store and to my grandparents house. He threw up a couple of times in the car but he loved meeting people and he loves the space at my grandparents place. His first bath today as well (to get rid of the gross soggy dog smell) and he's happily sleeping from what must have been quite a busy, exciting day.
We have dubbed the puppy "Angus" and we're getting a name tag for him monday. Our family has expanded, easily; and no seams have ripped and no buttons have popped off.
