Reel Love (On watching an old movie)
Bast
Pairing: Theresa/Isabelle
Prompt: 2, a. b.
Slow raindrops carved the gates of their sorrow. Tapered, delicate fingers traced the path upon the window pane, then were captured, kissed, and held against the heart. Shyly, they moved toward each other; longing, but fearful, of that first incriminating kiss.
I watch this innocence play out in a darkened room, embarrassed by remembrance, yearning for my youth. The first time is like no other--shattered taboos and exaltation, declarations of love, and fanciful promises, barriers shattered, contact made. The answer to the uestion of why.
Feeling tears on my face, I smile, and watch as they, tumbling, unravel on a fleeting reel.
(note: one of my letters isn't striking)
