it's driving me me mad

I've been becoming really fanatic over a ship over the last couple of weeks. You know, when you think about it in your head and you grin and get that dopey look on your face, because you're in love with a 'ship.

Now, I don't think you have any idea what 'ship it is.

I will tell you.

GOOD LORD. LOOK AT THAT PICTURE. I am freaking out.

Ever since I saw the first picture of Piratical!Norrington last month [it was a different one], I've been secretly obsessing over Elizabeth/Norrington. It *shouldn't* be surprising. I mean, okay. I saw POTC on the first day it came out, and the MOMENT Norrington showed up onscreen I actually shrieked, "STEVE!" And I always loved his character, and I always thought it was interesting/hilarious that they give more emphasis for Norrington and Elizabeth to be together than they do Elizabeth and Will, and I freaking LOVE the Jack Davenport/Keira Knightley commentary, and the few POTC fics I did read back when I dabbled in that fandom just so happened to feature some E/N [which made me go, "...oooh."], but never was there THIS. THIS FULL BLOWN OMFG.

I know exactly why this happened, though. It's the Wesley effect. Wesley Wyndam-Pryce, to this day, had my favourite arc of any male on any television show. I guess it's become my secret kink, the honourable upstanding guy, dedicated to reason and truth, becomes SCRUFFY and DIRTY and ROGUE. PIRATE!

And now I'm just like, okay. Elizabeth and Jack will always have the fun flirty banter [they were always the 'ship I had the most preference for, previously] but not much else, because, well, I think Elizabeth's more than a bit odded out by him, and Elizabeth and Will will always be the Oh, Canon, couple that I just don't really care about [odd, that Will basically followed that same arc from honour to piracy in the first film, and I just went...okay], but NORRINGTON. JAMES NORRINGTON AND ELIZABETH SWANN.

Oh, I can't wait until this movie comes out. I'm prolly seeing a midnight tonight if the big Cinema One is doing one, which it arguably isn't. Which is stupid. But, failing that, I'm seeing it tomorrow at 9:35 Pacific Time.

Let me look at that picture one more time...

OMFG.

[They're probably going to go the Pining-for-her route, and it's going to KILL ME. IF HE DIES? GORE VERBINSKI? OR WHOEVER WROTE THE SCRIPT? I WILL KILL YOU.]

HA to the song appropriateness.

potc, jack davenport
