there was no need for that alliteration

So I'm sitting in bed finally watching the Jake Gyllenhaal and Richard Kelly commentary for Donnie Darko [Diana! Sausage pineapple pepperoni pizza!] and it occurred to me that the reason that Ken from Freaks And Geeks looked and sounded so familiar to me is because Seth Rogen plays Ricky Danforth, aka the sidekick mean guy.

He of the most brilliant lines: "I like your boobs," and "Uh, didn't your dad like stab your mom in the chest?" And come to think of it, those lines are pretty Ken-esque.

And an interesting image I've never seen in the 'Concept Art' section:

PARANOID ANDROID! Well, I found by Googling the phrase that there's apparently an old bluegrass song with that title, but the first thing that came to my mind was definitely Radiohead's Paranoid Android. I don't think I'm the only one. The song and the film have their similarities, that's for sure.

More proof that Jake Gyllenhaal is destined for me [it's true, I swear...um...] is that we're the only two people in the world who appreciate the line, "Principal Cole, I'll SHOW you what else." It's his favorite line in the movie!

It's unappreciated genius.

Really.

ETA: Jake doing an impression of Christopher Walken as Frank. O. M. G.
