Jack White is singing Mr. Cellophane.

ooooooooohhhhhhhhhh.

The White Stripes, Live in Berlin 5.19.03

28 songs [MP3] available for download, including the sex that is Ball and Biscuit, the fastest version of Let's Build A Home, the best opening song [Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground], a medley including among others, I Smell A Rat and Mr. Cellophane -- most importantly? Jack. And. His. Guitar. Live.

The stripes were MADE to be heard live. They were designed for it. Because that's when Jack can really let loose on his guitar, and contrary to what you might think -- it's blues. BLUES. BLUESBLUESBLUESBLUES geee-tar.

This is the most amazing live show of theirs that I've heard. The one I saw only ranks higher because of the tribute to Johnny Cash and the fact that they played The Union Forever. Which is just SO much more sad, angry and painful live. And it's funner than hell to shout out There is a man/a certain man/and for the poor you can be sure that he'll do all he can/who is this one?/whose favorite son?/just by his action has the traction magnets on the run/ who likes to smoke?/enjoys a joke?/and wouldn't get a bit upset if whe were really broke?/with wealth and fame/he's still the same/I bet you FIVE you're not alive if you don't know his name at the top of your lungs cos you know it by heart and the thousands of people around you are doing the exact same thing.

But...this show -- if I was a car, I would have blown a gasket.

Go. Download. Listen.
