There's probably a name for this

I just wrote about this elsewhere and figured I should put it in my LJ since it's that kind of thing:

Somehow, I did not notice until THIS YEAR that my neighborhood is full of little deciduous trees that have red or orange berries on them in December and January. They're just starting to fall off now. I have absolutely no recollection of these trees or the berries, either in the trees or on the ground or anything, and it's obvious from their size and shape that they were not planted just this year. I am SO FREAKED OUT. HOW DID I MISS THIS!?!?

Some people woulds say they rewrote a piece of the Matrix overnight and I'm the only one who remembers a world before little trees with berries on the leafless branches. And if YOU remember them, that's just because your memories were properly rewritten. FREAKS ME OUT.
