God, what a sad vision of Sam's struggles through time. Starting at 13...! What really got to me is how likely the whole set of scenarios were. I swear, I don't know they ever did cope in the first place. :(

Thank you so much for filling my prompt!! It was one that I really loved and you filled it wonderfully! I love how Sam's addiction grew over the years. With all he's been through, it would be totally believable for him to want to just escape that pain by numbing it. I like how you wrote him while he was hunting on the pills.. How he just didn't care much about anything, even to the point where he did everything he shouldn't do to get rid of that black dog.. In a way even if it's unsaid, it gave the feeling that he didn't mind the pain and it just adds to the atmosphere of the story. I love that you brought Bobby in as well. I wonder what role he could've played in Sam's life while he dealt with addiction. It broke my heart to see that Sam had found a way out but that hunting threw him back down his downward spiral of miseries. That was so sad! I would've kept reading!! I wonder what would happen now that he's back to the hunt and how Dean would react if he found out ..

I'm glad you enjoyed! I really liked this prompt, I can totally see Sam struggling with addictions other than demon blood. I bet Bobby would have been better at handling things than John. It's something about his nonjudgmental support and the way he cares for them. I think Dean probably would have ignored it for the most part, at least while they were growing up. It would've made Sam and John fight less and Sam protest less about hunting, all good things.
