SO I had my interview with the costume shop with the opera department yesterday. I learned many things, such as: the two costume shops are completely separate, the stage in the Reynolds Performing Arts Center really has NO WING SPACE (seriously, like less than 3 feet) and I got the job. Yes, thats right, I found that out AT the interview. As it turns out, the costume shop for the school of drama gets all of the students to be in the class, and to pay OU to work in the shop, while the Opera people don't care about working on costumes, so as a result there isn't any slave labor, AND most people who can sew/know about costuming are in the school of Drama and are spending all of their time in that costume shop. Plus she liked my portfolio. So, in closing I am making $8/hr that doesn't count against my financial aid. YAY for good luck and good photos!
