The End
So I was planning for like the past year on what my last two chapters were going to be, but then one of you said, "Hey, just end it!" and that suddenly seemed like a pretty good idea given how much I am technically actually supposed to be doing in the real world this month. And given how attached I tend to get, it's probably best to drop it on the ground and run, like Bilbo did with the Ring.
I still kind of ache for my missing chapters, but maybe I'll tack them back on when I revise the whole thing for AO3 in the vaguely-defined future. (And let's be honest, the chapters in question were just one mess of travel logistics and conveniently significant dreams and thinly veiled meta-grumbling about how much I hate Hugh Montgomery, so it is not actually a loss).
Is there more fanfiction in my future? I don't know, probably. Should there be? I don't know.
I'll probably still be hanging out here from time to time, in case and regardless of whether anyone's watching. I have some plans that may or may not be good plans. I don't think I'll let myself write another 100,000 word fanfic without an outline, though -- or better yet, at all -- at least not until I've gotten my real life a little more sorted.
To everyone (I think there are still two of you?) who stuck with me this long, thank you! It's been fun. For me, at least. I hope it's been fun for you.
