The Concert...

It kicked ASS! Whoever said Evanescece wasn't good live, has obviously never seen Evanescence live! Oh my GOD they were good!

We got there at about 6, the show was supposed to start at 6:30. We WERE on the Lawn, but it really wasn't that bad! We got pretty good seats...Close to the front as possible, and right next to the isle so we wouldn't have to climb over people and/or have people climb over us much. I had a clear view of the stage and both screens, so I was happy.

There were 3 bands before Evanescence went on...Breaking Benjamin (I think?), 3 Days' Grace, and Seether. No one really cared about the first band; in fact most people weren't even there when they were playing but they were pretty good, so I felt kinda sorry for them...

3 Days Grace was good too, but I knew one song...The one they play on the radio :P BUT I didn't know that it was them who sang that song so I'm now enlightened, and might have to go buy their CD...

Seether was also good, but something about the vocalist bugged me...He didn't really have a very original voice. He sounds a lot like the lead singer of Creed, who also sounds like a lot of people...But I liked the songs. And of course, they played "Broken," their single that features Amy Lee. :D I really love that song, it's so beautiful...I need to download it. ::mental note::

And FINALLY at 9:40 Evanescence came on. They opened with "Haunted" which rocked MY socks because that's one of my favorite songs of their's. They sang every song from "Fallen" except for "Hello," which kinda dissapointed me because that song is wonderful AND god knows Amy needed a break on her voice and that song doesn't strain it too much...Oh well. They also played about four songs that haven't been released yet, and since I know most (if not all) of they're unreleased tracks they wrote back in the late 90's, I'm guessing those four songs are from the new album. (Which I DON'T know when it's gonna come out and that bother's me...)

Twas fabulous--when they started playing "Bring Me to Life" they started it out a little different, but I could still tell what it was, so I started screaming...But I was like one of twenty or so people out of the thousands of people there. Until about four notes later when it was totally recognizable as the song from the CD, THEN everyone started screaming. Dumbasses...You could TELL it was "Bring Me to Life" it was just a little different...Ay...But it was cool being one of the fist people to start screaming for a song. :D

Oh! And oogie: there was WAY too much baby-pink at this concert! I can take hot pink, especially if it's mixed with black...But there was one girl (blonde, I might add) who's whole OUTFIT was baby pink. Her tiny shirt, her tiny skirt and her shoes were all baby pink. Not to mention the RIBBON in her hair that had plastic hearts (also pink) attatched to it. I wanted to throw up. Was she lost, or something? Did she not know where she was? I'm not saying go goth to this concert or anything...but BABY PINK??? ::facepalm::

Anyway, they played for an hour, and had one encore. Getting out wasn't that bad, either. I bought a shirt, and it's quite nifty. I think I should have gotten a Medium instead of a Large though...Oh well. ::shrug::

Oh, and I don't have any pictures because I'm a fucktard and forgot the camaras at home. >.
