Look at me, I'm a game whore!

Anyone want to play D&D with me?
So my play-by-post board could use some new blood. And I am feeling like running a new game. So... I'm advertising here, and if it sounds like something you might be interested in... let's talk!
A play-by-post game requires you to make a statement about your character's actions and reactions, about a paragraph's worth, about two or three times a week minimum. This can be as simple as "Joe will go along with what everyone else does" or as complex as an in-depth treatise on why Joe does what he does, and exactly how he intends to do it.
As the GM, I am the one who decides what happens; you state your intent, and I resolve how it comes out.
The board uses the D&D 3.5 rules. If you're not familiar with these, but would like to play, speak up and I'll help you. You don't need much knowledge of the rules to actually -play- in play-by-post, because as I said, I resolve most of it. I can also give you options if you'll find it helpful, like, "You could cast this spell, or this spell, or attack the monster with this, or run away. What do you want to do?"
Some of you have played RPG's before, but not play-by-post; think of it as tabletop only reaaally slow.... and more emphasis on roleplaying, less on dice-rolling.
Some of you have played on roleplaying boards before; play-by-post is like that, except I have to roll dice for fights and skill checks to see if you can do what you're trying to do. (only for tricky stuff, like fights; you can talk and walk around and so forth just fine.)
This is a nice board, and nice people. Some of them are kids, so keep it PG-13 please... but no one is going to tease you for being new, make fun of your spelling, or hassle you for your beliefs. We are not into PKilling, powergaming, flaming, drama, or any of that crap.
I have special permission to start a thread with just my LJ friends in it, so we can all learn and play together. If you like the experience, I encourage you to make other characters and play with some of the other excellent GMs on the board.
this is the board: d20 World Of Greyhawk
I'm GM Zork, and I also play the characters Tod Pottersfield, Loxocemus, and Zamora. I encourage you to read the "Getting Started" section, and browse around a thread or two to get the idea of how the game is run in this medium.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask right here!
I will base the adventure I run on what characters people would like to play, so don't worry about making something that will 'fit in'... the setting is about as generic fantasy as you can get, and the adventure itself... will be up to you!
Do I have any takers?

NEW INFORMATION! YAY!

I'm so glad to hear from you guys! Here's some more information:

This is the general overview information for the boards, and this will tell you how to make a login and a character, including the general rules for character generation; we use a point-buy system, you get a set amount of starting gold, and we pretty much start with the basic "Player's Handbook" for classes, skills, etc. All pretty basic.

We also allow Traits and Flaws if you want to use them, but you don't have to. We also allow other books and house rules which are detailed here. But again... you don't have to use them.

Everyone starts at first level. I'd prefer you not play Evil characters (I know, ironic, right? but it gets to be sort of a hassle, especially since I'm pretty sure one person's intending to play a paladin ;) ).

It does look a bit complicated! But worry not; there are also pregenerated character templates and we can tweak them all you like to make them more 'you'. If the rules are baffling, feel free to just email me and say, 'I'd like to play a wizard... help?' or "I want to be like Legolas!" and I'll help you make a character over email.

Since it's a learning experience, I'm also going to allow a bit of 'reworking' around the time you reach second-level; if you decide you really don't like the way you've arranged your stats or feats or skills, or even your race or your class, we can change them then.

Don't worry too much about whether you know the World Of Greyhawk; it's about as generic as you can get, and I'll feed you anything you need to know. If you'd like particular information for your background, like, "Where would I be from, if I was a desert nomad?" I can supply you with that.

I'm working now on getting the go-ahead from one of the GMs to use part of his 'territory' for the game... but in the meantime, feel free to work up a character and post it here... Or, email it to me!

If you'd like to play but can't join yet, no worries... if time opens up, feel free to drop me a line and I'll work you in!

As soon as I get the go-ahead for the setting, I'll start up a "Tavern" where your characters can start to appear, meet, mingle, talk to each other and to NPCs, while we get everyone's character sheets ready to go. Then when we're all ready, the adventure will begin!

Please do email me any questions, character ideas, anything, and I will be happy to help! (If you'll put "D&D" in the subject, that'll help catch my eye). The email is eveforward(at)gmail(dot, of course)com.
