The Implications of Attraction

Men seem to often ponder the age old question of “what do women want?” If this question could be easily answered, then it’d save multitudes of men and women a great deal of headache and frustration.

Simultaneously, women are trying to figure out what men want. Though men are supposedly simple creatures ( Read more... )

I don't understand why relationships have to be so complicated. Is thoroughly enjoying someone's company not a valid reason to pursue a healthy relationship?

Tangent: Studies have shown that men would rather pursue ugly women then normal looking women because they feel like they have a better chance with someone that not everyone is attracted to. Ironic though, right?

I've noticed that shitty guys (this includes douches, the unemployed, the uneducated) pursue women who are accepting of their behavior. Similarly, hot ass girls (this includes the talentless, the empty minded, the gold diggers) pursue guys who set low human being expectations (mainly in terms of career or independence) so they can keep being hot and not actually contribute to society.

You are right though, ugly people fall in love and marry ugly people because in the end, everyone can find someone who accepts them for who they are. Some people call it settling, some people call it being realistic and having offspring to continue the trend. It all works out. I get the impression that people are lonely by nature and it sounds like bullshit angst, but despite how much someone tells you they love being independent, we didn't evolve to die alone. You find someone who makes YOU happy, who YOU'RE attracted to, and you have a couple kids and call it life.

I don't know about make up and stuff. I think people should just take care of themselves. Eat healthy, be active, be informed. It doesn't hurt, but you're right, it's fleeting for women and they will definitely need more redeeming qualities.

That being all said, Eve, you're definitely an 8. Now I could NEVER EVER see you dating a 6, and let's not kid ourselves, unless you find some way to get Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio, or maybe Hugh Jackman to get you pregnant (separately of course), you may not end up with a 10. But I imagine that your future significant other will be very bright, successful, talented and good looking. Sounds like an 8 to me. But what do I know? Maybe you'll find someone perfect and be everything you always wanted. In that case, the world should be happy for you and how fortunate you'll be.

But knowing people, they'll want to kill you. Oh well!
