Sorin at the vet

Today was Sorin's regular checkup, and he's been barely eating and seemed pretty thin, so I was glad that was happening right before his appointment because it's increasingly hard to get an appointment with our veterinary practice.  In fact, he'd lost 1.7 pounds in the last month!  The vet didn't seem too concerned, as there are many ways we can address this.  First, he might need a different flavor of food.  Second, his thyroid problems seemed to have resurfaced, so he may need a stronger dose of the medicine.  And third, as I suspected, he's got dental problems so it hurts him to eat.  He'll get that fixed, but we have to wait a whole month before their next dental surgery opening.

They did the preparatory bloodwork today, along with his thyroid testing and rabies shot, but they didn't tell me how much longer than usual it was going to take.  I ended up meeting J and D for dinner around 5:40 pm; they had already eaten but had gotten my salad for me; I also ate some mushrooms J had found in his soup and some fries D didn't want.  It didn't rain during my errands and even waited until I'd done a short neighborhood walk in the dark - it was pretty cold, though!  Lots of rain since then.
