A writing comm asked for "Your top 5 recs of everything"... how does one even choose that kind of thing??? I stuck just with Doctor Who and I still couldn't rec just 5. I have six years of recs on
calufrax alone. But revisiting these is rekindling some of the fandom joy I've been missing lately. So, for others as well, 5 (ish) fanwork recs:
Vid:
What About Everything (and
What About Everything (II)) by Calapine. If anyone has a link or dl to a higher quality version of the first, I'd love to snag it.
Vid:
Doctor Who: Can-Can Onze otherwise known as Series 5 in two minutes. ELEVENTY! PONDS! ELEVEN AND PONDS! I can't even.
Art:
A Partial Map of your TARDIS (Subject to Change). I love this so much. I love the aesthetic and the creativity and it is just amazing, amazing. The rooms! The shuttle stops! The Cafe menu! *hearts*
Fic:
The Road to Shalka by Soldeed (my review blurbs
here and
here) and
An Irksome Word and Task by
Cryptile. The life, times, and end of Richard E. Grant's WebCast 9th Doctor. Because you may not have realized yet that you need this in your life. But you do.
Fic:
Turn Your Back by
singeaddams. Ten stories about the Doctor and Nakedness. Ridiculous, fun, creative, hilarious, and also heart-felt. Love it so much I'm on a mission to podfic the whole thing--as soon as I figure out how to do Sarah Jane's thoughts in part 4. Anyway I've done #7 and #5 so far. (my review blurb
here)
Bonus Fic:
Syntax of Things by
clocketpatch (my review blurb
here). Ace, Hex, and Seven in the jungle. Just brilliant, brilliant how she brings the OCs and the setting to life, and weaves a timey-wimey tale that slots so amazingly well into the Big Finish era.
And all the rest of the things I've not mentioned. *flails*
