Harry Potter, band trips and Thanksgiving.....oh my!
Hello all! I got one of those random surges of motivation to update my lj again! yay! in light of recent exciting events, I thought I might fill you all in the awesomeness that has been occurring in my life! woot! so first of all, this past week was Harry Potter week in my dorm. as i'm sure most of you know, the fourth Harry Potter movie came out this Friday so me and three of my friends decided to celebrate this amazing event with organizing many fun-filled Harry Potter festivities for our dorm for the whole week! Since our dorm has 4 floors it worked out perfectly, we each were a Hogwarts house, and since we thought of the idea, the first floor was Gryfinndor! woot! So Monday we started out with the semi-finals for the Quidditch cup (yes I did just say Quidditch, we actually played and OMG IT WAS SOOOO AMAZING AND RIDICULOUSLY FUN!!!!!) then Tuesday night was the Quidditch finals, and unfortunately.....Slytherin won. bleh. Wed night was Harry Potter munchies during which we had cauldron cakes, fizzing whizbees, chocolate frogs, acid pops, Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, BUTTER BEER (soooooo good!!!!!), and soooo much more!! oh and each night we were also watching the movies in order (Mon=1st movie, Tues=2nd movie, Wed=third movie). then Thursday was the common room decorating contest (Gryfinndor soooooo won!!! holy shit, our common fire is AMAZING!!! we even built a fireplace!! woot!), followed by the preimere of HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE!!!!!!! so i could potentially talk for hours and hours about this movie but overall, here are my comments: it was a great movie for a movie's sake and i think they did a pretty good job for including the most important stuff from the book but it was kinda annoying about all the stuff they left out. oh well, all in all it was good!! yay I LOVE RON!!! and Cedric was SOOO HOTTTTT!!!
ok moving on....today we had an away football game and the band got to go!! yayayay!!! our first band trip!!! it was sooo much fun!!! yay for having to be on the bus at 5 am!!! and watching Phantasm!!! and for Jason taping the entire Alma Mater on the bus window! and almost dying on the practice field! and for Subway at 9 am! and for the Illinois band being the nicest band ever! and for marching for like a mile to get to the stadium! and for the cool Illinois fight songs! and for CATS WINNING!!!!!! and for gorging ourselves with Burger King and Dairy Queen! woot! all in all, it was awesome and im sooo excited that we're gonna go somewhere warm for the BOWL GAME!!!!!!!
on another note, i am uber excited for Thanksgiving! i've never been more excited to see my house before! and my parents! and my cat! and my friends! and Andrew! and Caldwell! yayayay its gonna be awesome!!!!! i can't wait!!!!
alright well im gonna go be a major dork and do hwk on a Saturday night and then probably go to bed early! cuz im so cool like that lol no, i really have good reasons for being a dork: 1. i haven't slept in 3 nights, 2. i have to write to research and write two papers this weekend. bleh alright well must go, but i can't wait to see all of you back home in less than a week!! yay, miss you all!
