A Peekaboo into my living situation.
So, its now the about 9th? 10th? week into 2nd quarter for this year. Last quarter because of fights between other roomates we made a chore-wheel so people didn't bitch about cleaning up. I said I'd take trash duty always just cause I didn't use most of the house and I didn't see a reason to clean up things that I don't really do. So now its the present, and I haven't done the trash in a while, for good reason too. One being that we haven't yet had a meeting about chores this quarter. And two being other roomates have left notes about how THEY had to clean up parts of the house (that they messed up in the first place, but w/e). So apparently, they don't have to clean up the house, they just choose to, so apparently, I should feel that way. So the trash I don't contribute to I left up to them. And well thirdly cause I honestly forget, I don't use any of the trash cans in the house but my own (an odd concept eh? I've found pizza boxes in the bathroom trash).
Today I got a note stating "The trash in the kitchen has been overflowing for a few days - I took it out last time. Thanks, Michelle." Now, if that came from a good friend who I use the kitchen with, ok fine thats cool, we'll take turns. But Michelle and her roomate (Stephanie) have been leaving notes like this all over. That they have to do everything and its soooo hard and that we're bad roomates. So wtf! apparently I have an obligation still to do things that I don't contribute to, but they don't? If they clean up its cause they're righteous and better then the rest of the house (and believe me if you read their notes you'd get the same feeling). So take my advice, do not live with people you hardly know!
