NQH and I got up at 5:45 this morning to go vote.  Polls here open at 6, and our local station is only a 5 min walk from the house, which is nice.  We got there just around 6 to find a line through the parking lot, down the street, and around the corner.  Part of the reason we wanted to vote so early is so we wouldn't have to wait in line and could go home and go back to bed. :)

45 minutes later I was in the booth.  Voting itself was ultra-simple.  There's nothing exciting going on in VA this year, so it was just votes for president, senator, and representative, and the electronic system is really easy.

As we're walking home, NQH starts grumbling about how he feels disenfranchised because his confirmation screen said "Independent Party" for his presidential selection, rather than "Nader/Nader's VP."  He starts warming up for a rant on the discrimination against 3rd party candidates, but I cut him off at the pass and calmly informed him that my confirmation screen said "Democratic Party" rather than "Obama/Biden."

It was a good morning.
