Grandfather's Farm

Nov 29, 2007 10:50

I've been going through my trip chronologically and I've been building up to my favorite part which was going to see my grandfather again, after about 5 years. He's 87. He's incredibly healthy and sharp for his age, thanks I'm sure to working on his farm with his animals. He tells me he's been getting by by trading walnuts from his trees, and fresh eggs for whatever he might need. He remembers things about me that I have no idea of, and was incredibly excited to tell Jeremy about me as a little girl, so that I could translate. He got to meet Jeremy for the first time of course, which is very special to me.

Our first day there I wanted to see his orchard again, which I used to play in for hours as a kid. He brought out two pairs of wellies for Jeremy and I, miraculously in our size.

There's so many pictures I have of my grandpa, and his house - I'm sure I'll post tons. Hope I don't bore you! It's really just sentimental to me.
