Because a person is free to vote for whoever they believe in and not join the bandwagon just to be with one of the "popular" crowds.

I think voting is more than a popularity contest or going with the popular crowd.

You vote to effect change. You vote to support people who support the same things you believe in. But you also vote to make sure people who are the antithesis of what you believe stay out of office.

Nader offers few (if any) significant different points of view than Kerry. The biggest one is total withdrawl from Iraq, which is untenable. On top of that, he hobbled together his nomination, and is depending on free advertising to garner attention. The Reform Party (the same people who nominated Perot and Pat Buchanan) is his method of getting on the ticket in Florida!

Nader voters need to be honest with themselves. If they truly believe Nader would make an effective president, then support him. Go all out.

But Nader voters need to do some serious thinking... How is my vote going to accomplish the issues most important to me? And when it all boils down, it's not. Nader will never be president. Ever.

People are free and have a duty to vote their conscience and vote their beliefs. But a vote for Nader in what many liberals/dems/progressives view as the most important one in a century, is a vote against the ideals that those groups share.
