It's been a hell of a fortnight.

I guess this will teach me to update more often, so I don't wind up with huge wall-of-text entries.

About a month ago, I finally got my ass in gear and applied at Express Scripts. I'd been kicking it around for most of a year before finally doing so, but I had a really bad week at CCBill and some spare time at home to do it. A week later, they called me up, and I went in to take a test of some sort- general computer aptitude and comprehension stuff. Well, I made a couple dumb mistakes on it, but with how well I did on the rest of it, they seemed to think I was a decent candidate. I got the call a week later, and this was two Saturdays ago; set up an interview for Tuesday before last. Went in, filled out a little paperwork, talked to a supervisor about the job, left with a much better impression of the company than I'd had previously. They apparently manage benefits for companies- health and dental insurance, that sort of stuff.

Got the call on Tuesday that I'd been 'recommended' for a position- the lady, Robin is her name, told me that all the training spots for this month's class were full, but that if someone dropped out she'd call me up by Monday at the latest, and otherwise I'd start next month. (Next month being Sept. 28th) Well, Friday afternoon, while Mike, Todd and I were in the apartment office getting them to lower our rent, she called me back to let me know there was a spot in this training group. I've got more paperwork to fill out and bring in on my first day, but otherwise I'm set. I'm going to try and drop down to 18 hours at CCBill, working Saturdays a full 8 hour shift, and 5 hour shifts on Tuesday and Wednesday for as long as I've got to pay rent on both places.

On the apartment note, Miroku's mom is going to be renting out a house, and sub-renting it to Miroku, Miroku's sister, Gumby, and myself. It's just south of Broadway on Price - the actual street being Palmcroft - and freaking spectacular. The place is huge, I'm not sure the exact square footage, but each of the smallest bedrooms is only slightly smaller than my current room. It's a 2 bath place, so Miroku's sister has the 'master' bedroom with one connected. Miroku took the largest room, which is probably the size of my current living room, but it's an addition to the house - has a separate AC unit and a pet door. (lol) The living room and dining room are essentially the same room, the only difference being a gradual change from wood floors to tile, and the size is comparable to my entire apartment. The kitchen is bigger, too, with the only complaints being the age of the dishwasher, which is probably going to be replaced, and the side-by-side fridge and freezer, which I dislike because there's never enough room on the big shelves.

The place also has a 2-car garage and an attic, both of which are far larger than we need. The attic, we'll probably get some extension cords and string a couple of bulbs, because as-is it's just waiting to be a scene in a horror flick. It also has a very nice patio, where they put up ceiling tiles under the awning, and left behind a grill and table/chairs. It's got a pool that I'm very tempted to grab one of those patio-tent things for so we have some shade on it, and it's kinda small, but fairly deep. There's a stump in the back with potting soil already in the hollow, and a few areas of bare dirt that I want to plant something in- peas, carrots, maybe tomatoes, depending on the season.

Going to put ads up on campus, and probably on craigslist to try and find a replacement for me here at Univ. Village - rent will only be 300/mo plus utilities and internet for them, hopefully enough for them to bite. I can afford paying both, but would rather not do so for long

My Warhammer 40k collection is finally getting paint, as well. I'm taking part in the Tale of Even More Painters which is giving us deadlines and points values to shoot for, to try and help us to finish whatever projects we've never quite gotten started. So far I've finished my Dreadnought and the squad of Terminators, and put some paint on a couple pieces of terrain I'd been meaning to finish- the end results are looking pretty good.
