Ha ha ha! Poor old bat.

I'm still laughing at the Namor strip. The look on Namor's face when he's peeing cracks me up. I thought about it today and laughed out loud!

I was about to go on about how this lacks a poignancy that the prior broken robot strip had but then I thought, damn, this still does reflect how broken we are in general.

I'd say this lacks poignancy because it isn't meant to have any. Just saying.

I was reading your blog about horror movie franchises and couldn't agree more. About everything!

Have you ever seen Joe Dante's "The Burbs"?

Couldn't make it through that movie, imo it lacked all the stuff Dante usually did pretty well, unfunny, dead obvious, plodding script and story, performances overly broad for no real reason, obnoxious characters making stupid decisions. It's no Shadow of a Doubt as far as the black heart of small town America stuff is concerned. If it gets better in the end, well, I don't feel like sitting through the dull stuff again, there's too little time, too many movies.

Curiously enough, The 'Burbs is the only film from Dante's '80s heyday that I've never gotten to see. My library actually has it, though, so I may end up finally giving it a look after all these decades.

It's probably the most forgettable of Dante's films, IMO. On the other hand, someone who worked on the Wikipedia article liked it enough to include a diagram of the street that everyone lived on.

Reminds me of the way Micosoft software "works" and the way Microsoft treats its customers. I speak from experience. Note that from what I've read all of Microsoft's competitors have decided that it's a great idea to copy them, in all these important ways.
