Interesting photograph of Manhattan tenement kids reading comic books, circa 1940. Link via Sarah. I forget how she stumbled upon it.
I'd love to buy a print of it, but the cheapest one is $30. I love old photographs of folks reading comics and the funnies, kids, servicemen, Elvis, Hank Williams (iirc), Charles Starkweather (Okay, I dunno if there are actually any pictures of Starkweather moving his lips to an issue of Crime Does Not Pay, but he was reportedly a fan of the funnybooks).
