So I think that I was born under a lucky star or something. I got some numerical analysis homework back today that I got a perfect score on. Weird thing is though, I made up so much bullshit on that assignment, it wasn't even funny. I got bored while doing it the other day, so instead of sucking it up and finishing, I made stuff up about the linear dependence between eigenvectors or something like that, and I got full credit. I know Dr. Schlater reads everything on an assignment and grades quite hard. Apparently I'm good at making stuff up.

My parents are going out of town tomorrow morning and not coming back until late Saturday night I think. I think they are going to Dallas, but I could be wrong. Anyway, I am gonna be bored this weekend.

So the rest of this entry is probably just going to be a rant about random final fantasy stuff, so here's your warning.

I was talking to Micheal the other day about Final Fantasy, and it got me thinking. Cloud was the biggest whiny baby of all other FF heroes. That's right...even more so than Squall. Think about it. Cloud had no opinion on anything. He had a very weak sense of justice. Whenever he was asked a question, he always responded by throwing his bizarrely shaped polygons for arms up into the air with no response. Even after coming through a massive identity crisis, he stills continues whining all through Advent Children.

In all honesty, as far as heroes in Final Fantasy games go, I actually liked Zidane in FFIX a lot. Granted that he looked like a goober and that his skills sucked, he had an attitude that made me like his character. He had a strong sense of justice, and when he had his little identity crisis, he came out of it stronger and didn't continue bitching. Btw, Zidane's identity crisis was one of my favorite FF moments ever. While the song You're not Alone played, you fought a battle with each one of your teammates and found out how much you meant to them. Quite badass if you ask me.

In regards to my favorite game ever, FFVI, it felt like there was a lack of a definative hero. Sure, it was supposed to be Terra, but after the apocalypse, it seemed that her importance faded until the very end. In my opinion, the hero of the story could have been her, Locke, or Celes. I like to think it's Locke most of the time for obvious reasons, but I really think Celes best fit the role of the hero. Let's face it, much like Terra, she was formerly an Imperial turned good guy. Many of the most important quests of the game revolved around her. For example: the Opera house, "seducing" Setzer, the Magitek facility, the journey to Thrasma, and well, the second half of the fucking game! Funny thing is, the first time I played the game through, I never used her unless I had to. She was one of the two that I left on the airship for the final battle (I think Gau was the other).

One thing FFVI had going for it though was a tremendous, if not the best ever, villain. Kefka, who btw my is my current lj icon, was hardcore. He was essentially Square's version of the Joker. The man became the very essence of magic for Christ's sake. How do you beat that?

I also realized something the other day about FFVII which will probably piss some people off, especially Kiley (but that's half the fun in saying it). I actually liked Aeris much more than Tifa. To me, it felt like Tifa never really had a dominant and endearing personality. Even though I hardly ever used her in battle, after watching AC numerous times, I realized that I loved her character. Even though she was hunted and hated, she always had a positive outlook on life. She had a very assertive personality that schmucks like myself fall for. And she loved Zack, and as we all know, Zack was the definition of badassery.

That's all for now.
