One Week After

Wahoo! I'm an official married Woman!
Today I finally went to the DMV to change my name on my license. After 1 hour and 45 minutes of waiting I officially became Eva Marie Holbrook.
I know I was that after the ceremony, but there are so many requirements to changing your name that my new name didn't feel real until today.
I'm so glad I only have to do this once in my lifetime.

The First week of married life is so much better than expected. Actually I wasn't sure what to expect really... But over all a very good outcome. First of all, It is so peaceful! I love it! My place is orderly and clean. My husband is caring and kind. He does dishes without asking, and takes out the garbage, and even likes to be the chef's helper!
It may not last forever, but I love the fact that he still wants to woo me. I'm going to cherish every moment of it.
There have only been a few mishaps none too big, except for one. Oh you guys are going to laugh when you hear this.

Andrew decided to make breakfast for me about two mornings after our wedding. He decided to make Biscuits with Gravy (plus eggs). So he popped the biscuits in the oven and started cooking the gravy on the stove top. When the gravy was finished he put it on the back burner to cool. The biscuits being done, he took them out and set them on top of the stove, then left to finish getting ready for the day. A few minutes later he mentions to me that something smells like it is burning so he goes to check it out. In the kitchen he finds that his perfectly golden biscuits are now burnt black on their bottoms. Bewildered he touches the pan to lift it up and burns himself. Looking closer he sees that the cookie sheet has actually sunk over the coils. Upon lifting it up (using oven mitts) he found that there was a hole melted into the bottom of the cookie sheet and all the metal that had melted off had pooled into the middle of the coils on the stove (upon cooling it looked like some odd coin). I walked into the kitchen to find my new husband with a peculiarly guilty look on his face and our new cookie sheet in the sink. He said to me "now Eva, don't be mad but... " at which point he explained what happened and showed me the stove, the cookie sheet, and the burn on his finger. He was so cute (*cough* I mean masculine, and manly) that I couldn't get mad at him at all. I felt no remorse over the pan and got over it quickly. In fact we had a great laugh at our first mishap as a couple. Too bad we didn't take a picture of the cookie sheet or keep the weird coin as a keepsake.

I look forward to more awkward happenings, for I know they'll make for really awesome stories.

As for tonight, yes I am at work. It is so sad. But lucky for me, OUR HONEYMOON IS TOMORROW!!! yay! Finally!! We're going to Jackson Hole Wyoming and Yellowstone. We'll be staying in our own Condo Until Monday, but won't be officially back to normal life until Tuesday. I'm So excited!!! EEEEEEEEE!! *lots of squeeeing noises emitting from me* Vacation! I've been needing a Vacation for sooooooo Long!! *happy sigh*
Things are looking up, in everything. I feel so blessed. The situation is finally starting to look up at work(thankfully, because I hated the thought of giving up on it). And Marriage life is just so great. I'm not around family all the time so I definitely feel less stressed. Life is Good. Really Good. I love it. I LOVE IT ALL.
I LOVE YOU ALL!
I'm so glad I still have so many friends who still support me and love me. SOOOO many people showed up to our reception. I was astounded. I felt so bad because I barely got to spend 5 minutes with anyone at one time. But I was so happy with the turnout. There were a few that couldn't make, and I completely understand. I also appreciate the notes from those individuals appologizing to me for not being able to come. I still love you all and think you are all great.

Well, work is almost over, and I am heading off to the stores to buy snacky food for the trip tomorrow. yay! *still uber excited*

So, see you all in a week!! Wish me luck!

peace, first week, jackson hole, wyoming, honeymood, yellowstone, love, mishaps, happiness, marriage, joy, new beginnings
