This is quite unusual, even for these scientists.
As it would be foolish to let such an opportunity pass, I have some questions for those who have only recently arrived, if you would not mind answering.
[ ooc; yes, i caved. feel free to answer anything he asks, or completely derail him. or anything, really. ]

And, of course, it would be difficult to study such a large group at once.

[...but just sort of shrugging and making a 'what can you do?' gesture.] Well, as it suits you, I suppose. I rather prefer my own methods.
[cannibaloli is extremely set in her ways okay]

Strength itself is worthless without proper knowledge of its proper use, its limits.
I have found that it has yet to disappoint.
[ and then deus ex machina two threads down keeps ruining his plans a bit in later novels. :c oops. ]

[too bad so sad :<]

Even if they do decide to pursue other...interests-- [ such as trying to also become immortal ] --such matters are easily taken care of. I do, after all, account for any possible deviation from my plans.

Oh? And just what is it you do? [A little curious, actually, because tbh while she's all for being creeptastic and manipulative, she wonders if Huey is up to getting his own hands dirty for the sake of his ~information~]

Aside from my study of the raw materials themselves-- [ because she does know of that and well. they were sort of allies. ] --I am interested in the specifics of immortality...how it works, its limits, how to create the substance that bestows such a state. Were one to grasp that knowledge, there would be little beyond them.

And this is knowledge you lack, despite being immortal yourself?

It would be preferable to have a subject other than myself...it is difficult to obtain all possible information through firsthand experience. However, the specifics of creating a means to immortality are, of yet, beyond me.

Gosh, that is really too bad. [/is all nosy and curious now] But just how did you accomplish it in the first place?

It is unfortunate, but certainly no deterrent. [ plus it's mostly just better to experiment on those created for that purpose. ] A colleague, one might say, crossed the line between science and magic-- by summoning a demon, it was granted to a small number.

A demon, is it? [just sort of tilts her head to one side] My word, your world must be very interesting indeed! [GUESS WHO IS PART DEMON HEY]
But shouldn't that be inconvenient, if you were to grant immortality to someone who outlived their use?

[ actually funny story-- turns out the demon's just some 3000-year-old guy who does this shit sometimes. ] So it is, though at some times more than others.
Not at all-- it is but a simple task to be rid of them.
