(014.) (fourth wall.)

This is quite unusual, even for these scientists.

As it would be foolish to let such an opportunity pass, I have some questions for those who have only recently arrived, if you would not mind answering.

[ ooc; yes, i caved. feel free to answer anything he asks, or completely derail him. or anything, really. ]

Only asking questions? That's a bit dull, don't you think?

I find that learning about raw materials is a much better precursor to putting them to use than simply acting on no knowledge whatsoever.

And, of course, it would be difficult to study such a large group at once.

These silly creatures? [makes sort of a dismissive gesture] Oh, I doubt they know anything of interest. The important matter is to weed out the weak ones from the rest! There's no good in making use of them unless they're worth your while.

Even a lack of strength does not entirely mean a lack of worth. Certain things can be taught with relative ease, after all...

d'awww I miss you toooooo ;~; nomnomguts November 17 2010, 06:24:24 UTC
[kind of a very dubious look] Oh? And what would that achieve? Strength in numbers is all very well, but cannon fodder is only good for so much.

[...but just sort of shrugging and making a 'what can you do?' gesture.] Well, as it suits you, I suppose. I rather prefer my own methods.

[cannibaloli is extremely set in her ways okay]

[ is also pretty set in his ways. ]

Strength itself is worthless without proper knowledge of its proper use, its limits.

I have found that it has yet to disappoint.

[ and then deus ex machina two threads down keeps ruining his plans a bit in later novels. :c oops. ]

hey hey lj could you give me my notifs on time please. like not an hour later. nomnomguts November 17 2010, 08:04:29 UTC
And so it requires a personal touch, don't you think? It won't do for your allies to turn-- ah, at least not before their worth is gone. Awakened Beings are really far more dependable in that aspect.

[too bad so sad :<]

[ or three threads down. i can count. ]

Even if they do decide to pursue other...interests-- [ such as trying to also become immortal ] --such matters are easily taken care of. I do, after all, account for any possible deviation from my plans.

[8Db Ohman I really do need to watch Baccano.]

Oh? And just what is it you do? [A little curious, actually, because tbh while she's all for being creeptastic and manipulative, she wonders if Huey is up to getting his own hands dirty for the sake of his ~information~]

[ yesss. most of huey's canon is in the novels, though. :c and i am very slow with translating. ]

Aside from my study of the raw materials themselves-- [ because she does know of that and well. they were sort of allies. ] --I am interested in the specifics of immortality...how it works, its limits, how to create the substance that bestows such a state. Were one to grasp that knowledge, there would be little beyond them.

/eats it! nomnomguts November 18 2010, 06:53:35 UTC
[aww too bad. any chance of english release or anything?]

And this is knowledge you lack, despite being immortal yourself?

nooooo spit that out right this instant evaluative November 18 2010, 06:57:05 UTC
[ hahahahahahahahaha no. D: ]

It would be preferable to have a subject other than myself...it is difficult to obtain all possible information through firsthand experience. However, the specifics of creating a means to immortality are, of yet, beyond me.

Gosh, that is really too bad. [/is all nosy and curious now] But just how did you accomplish it in the first place?

bad. there is zero nutritional value in it. evaluative November 18 2010, 07:24:15 UTC
[ i'm just glad that we have fan translations ;u;/ ]

It is unfortunate, but certainly no deterrent. [ plus it's mostly just better to experiment on those created for that purpose. ] A colleague, one might say, crossed the line between science and magic-- by summoning a demon, it was granted to a small number.

yes b-but... tastes so good :< like deep fried twinkie nomnomguts November 18 2010, 07:36:29 UTC
[srsly fan translations make everything better.]

A demon, is it? [just sort of tilts her head to one side] My word, your world must be very interesting indeed! [GUESS WHO IS PART DEMON HEY]

But shouldn't that be inconvenient, if you were to grant immortality to someone who outlived their use?

that just means it's worse for you. :I evaluative November 18 2010, 07:48:28 UTC
[ so they do! i'm very thankful to everyone who's done them so far! ]

[ actually funny story-- turns out the demon's just some 3000-year-old guy who does this shit sometimes. ] So it is, though at some times more than others.

Not at all-- it is but a simple task to be rid of them.
