Yesterday I went to the eye doctor, and they seemed to do a thorough job (which is good, b/c I went to the Wal-Mart Vision Center, which one might surmise as kind of shifty), which included everyone's favorite; pupil dilation! So, luckily, it wasn't a sunny day (for once I can be thankful for that), but I was still sporting some sunglasses afterwards. I think people thought I was kind of nuts when I popped in to Blockbuster wearing those bad boys. But I explained to the dude what was going on and he started singing "I Wear My Sunglasses at Night," which I thought was awesome. :) I said "that's right!" (Even though it was about 3:15 in the afternoon...so not exactly "night." haha) Nonetheless, very entertaining and appreciated. :) So, it takes forever to "un-dilate," or whatever you call it (and I was supposed to go visit Jon up at his parents'--but it was snowing and I had crazy eyes, so I opted not to). I took a picture of my giant pupils after they had gone down a bit. When they were at full dilation, there was only about 1/8 of an inch of the blue part showing. I thought it looked creepy. Anyway, here's a (clickable) pic of my gross alien eyes. haha
This picture was taken with my new camera! Weee! I bought a Kodak one on BestBuy.com for a good sale price and a web-only special. :) Plus free shipping, and it only took 2 days to get here. Of course I could barely focus on it when I first got home, and there was no way I could read the manual. Fuzzy, dilated eyes are a weird experience. Here is my pretty camera. Yes, you can laugh that it is purple, but it suits me. No one can argue that. :)
Right now I'm at my friend Wendy's house, b/c their fridge went out and they're having a Maytag dude come out and look at it today. And, like all productive members of society, they are both at work, and the kids are at school. AKA, they need someone to let the dude in the house. Enter Sarah J! So I brought my laptop with, knowing they have wireless internet, but it keeps going in & out. It's SUPER annoying, as I was trying to chat with Alicia and it kept bumping me offline. And Yahoo messenger doesn't automatically reconnect (or at least I don't have it set up to do so, and couldn't figure out how to change it. grr), so I had to keep logging in over and over and over and over. Annoying. Sorry Alicia. I'll come to you soon...
And I was also trying to order some digital picture prints online, and I had to keep reloading and going back. It was extremely irritating. Boo. I wonder if it has to do with how ridiculously windy it is today? That probably doesn't make sense. Anyway, the guy came and went, and I'm still here trying to finish up my post before I run back home to lame dial-up.
And here's a message just for Simon: tonight we're going to Brass Rail. Without you. Again.
Jealous?
