and in other news...I'm still chubby & jobless. :-P
Anyway, I haven't blogged in a few days. I really do enjoy doing it, but sometimes I just forget. So I'll try to keep with it. This week has gone really fast. After practice at church on Wednesday, Terri & I went out to the new Applebee's at Northtown. Actually, it's not in Northtown anymore, as it is now a free-standing building out in the parking lot of the mall. :) Good story. So we sat there yapping away the evening and it was so much fun. I love learning about other people and I got to hear more about her family and her church history and such. :) Plus, it was the first time we've ever gone out for drinks. Weee! Her hubby called after a while and she said she was on the way out...then an hour later he called again and we were still there blabbing. Whoops! Hope she didn't get in trouble. ;) Ha ha.
Last night Jon & I watched a (primitively recorded) DVD called "Why Evolution is Stupid." :D It was really good...at least the part I saw. I was so comfy and warm that I ended up falling asleep. I guess I saw about half of it, and I felt bad that I fell asleep, but it was 2 hours long. Eek! I woke up when Jon shut the DVD off (not sure if he finished or just stopped it), and then he ditched me to go on the computer for hours. biff. I was momentarily sad, but the fell right back to sleep. It's been a long time since I've conked out so hard at his place...I eventually stumbled home at 2:00 am. Oops. Nothing scandalous about it, just bad that I was there so late. So, after I had slept over there for so many hours, I came home and stayed up for a few hours in the middle of the night. Lame. I popped in a DVD and watched about 3/4ths of it. So maybe that's why I'm yawning like crazy right now. Normally I'd be happy & perky at this time of day (night). :) Oh well.
Tonight Jon came over and we played Mexican Train dominoes w/ my 'rents...Jon won, of course. Dad was 2nd, I barely squeaked by Mom to come in 3rd, and the last round doomed her into the last place slot. 'Twas fun, though. I must've missed the day we were taught to be good sports and gracious losers, b/c I sure am a poor sport when I lose and an arrogant jackass when I win. Sorry guys.
Tomorrow morning is the monthly women's brunch at my church...usually reserved for old(er) ladies, but I guess I'll give it another shot. I've only been to one other, and it was ok. Nothing to write home about, but ok. And I get some delicious fruit & breads & such, so that's cool. My mom's bringing banana bread again...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
And after that I'm meeting up with Jon, and eventually we'll mosy on down to pick up Simon & Eve and head for a place called "The Nook" in St. Paul. Jon & I saw it on "Diners, Drive-ins & Dives," a show on the Food Network that tells you about local greasy spoon establishments around the country. Sweet! Their cheeseburger looked amazing, and supposedly has a slab of cheese cooked right into the middle of the meat. Awesome! I'll report back on how I rate the deliciousness of the place. :) And the best part is, it's somewhat close to S&E's place, as far as I could tell by a quick glance at a map. Excellent.
So I'd better rest up for all that eating I have to do tomorrow. And I'll have to remember to dress comfortably. :-P G'night!
