What happens when I don't have cable?

Sep 26, 2006 12:24

What with “Heroes” airing last night, my 2006-2007 television season is all scheduled. Starting last year, I tried to get back into network television watching after years of almost pure cable, but was stymied by my retail job. Now, I’ve got myself a regular 9 to 5, which while not the most stable in the universe, at least allows me my nights. ( Read more... )

Yay! Most of my shows are on your list (my friend's trying to get me interested in Veronica Mars, but I've only seen one episode).
I loved Heroes, agree that Hiro was amazing, partially because he's funny in a show where everyone else is Deeply Disturbed.
I, too, watch Standoff, and for the same reason-I love Ron Livingston! (and Gina Torres) But last night, the little swooshy camera thing they did when he got the phone call annoyed me. I think he could have carried off the emotion without the swirling voice overs...blech.
And "Studio 60" is definitely my new love. I love Sorkin, I love Perry, I love Whitford, and it makes me happy in a world where West Wing no longer exists.

I keep catching Veronica Mars, so I'm making an effort to watch it this year. I'm slowly catching up on what's already happened, but since I've been known to do that with other shows, I'm not too worried.

Ron Livingston is awesome, I just wanted support his career. Yeah, I wondered about the choice of the voiceovers last night. It was unnecessary and kind of unintentionally funny.

I had to de-lurk so I could say that Veronica Mars is the most awesome show evah! I really hope you can manage to watch it this year. I just got hooked on it this summer when I borrowed the DVDs from a friend, so this will be the first year I watch it weekly.

Shark looks like it's going to be so cool, mostly because of James Woods.

I watched the first half of Heroes and taped the second half because it just wasn't holding my interest. Of course I was watching it mostly because the guy who played Eric Weiss on Alias is supposed to be on the show and he apparently doesn't make an appearence until later, so I'll have to give it another chance. Totally agree with the earlier person who loved the Spock line, though.

One last thing: Evadne, if you aren't reading TelevisionWithoutPity, you should be. It's an awesome website that I think would appeal to your sense of humour. In fact, I have thought more than once that it would be really great if you could get a job working there.

I recently got the first season of Veronica Mars as a gift, so I'm slowly getting up to speed. Everything I've heard about the show makes it sound like I'd like it. I'm hoping for the best.

I really did like Heroes, even if it's not my favorite of the new season. I hope you like it, if you do continue watching. I think the premiere needed to be two hours, because there were a whole bunch of things (like Eric Weiss's character) that didn't get mentioned. It was only part one of the beginning, it felt like.

I don't regularly read TWOP (because I rarely watched television before this year), but what I've stopped by to read is really funny.

Besides the fact that so many of the high schoolers in VM are so obviously in their 20s, I fell in love with it immediately after borrowing the DVDs for season one. Now only if I had time to watch the entire second season before next Tuesday...

Heroes, to me, deserved a second look. Studio 60 didn't strike a chord with me.

Yeah, I'm missing out on season 2 of VM too, but I don't think it'll be too much of a problem.
