So I'm watching the 10:00 evening news, and they come on tell me about a dense fog warning for Montgomery County where I live. This is all good because, hey, people could be driving tonight and would need to know that you can't see three feet in front of you.
THEN, the anchorwoman decides we need to cut to the camera in the field and see the dense fog! But you CAN'T SEE ANYTHING! It's a screen of grey!
It's fog! We believe you that it's there. You don't need to show it to us! It's not like I can't go to my window, look out and see, well, nothing really, because it's FOG!
Is a gross need for visuals so endemic to American culture that our news must film what is essentially a blank screen? What is wrong with people?!
errant stupidity
