Doctor Who 5.01
And nobody's more surprised than I am, I'm sure. But seriously, I liked it! A good revamping was what this series needed. I'm still not entirely sold on Matt Smith--he's a bit excitable, a bit full of himself, a bit too much like Tennant, but they probably were aiming for that because Tennant was so successful; he's weird, which is fine--great, even--but honestly he seemed like a bit of a creeper at the beginning with little Amelia. D8
But hey, that's cool, whatever, because I like Amy. And I really did not expect that. The trailers made me think she was going to be a screamer, but it turns out she actually pretty much kicks ass and takes numbers. YES. Also I love how the village so small that she knows everybody and they all know about her imaginary friend the Doctor and the family/friends who seem to be set up to be recurring characters all look charming as well.
The trailer for the rest of the series still makes me lol because of how they apparently plan to do EVERYTHING in this season, including a reenactment of Star Wars, but all in all I am very pleased to be once again excited about this show. =D
