First month of high school: I have remained almost unscathed!
The bathrooms recently have been smelling like cigarette smoke. This is unconvenient, but oddly exciting in my relative naivete. Socially, I am faring much better, mostly due to my more laid back personality. I have banished most of my anal retentivity. I have been pronounced, "absolutely gorgeous" and am arguing with my teachers whenever possible. A memorable one was when I got into a long discussion with my Global History teacher that the concept of right and wrong was put in place by society, ergo, there is no right and wrong. However, I've found that arguing often doesn't do anything except waste some time and make me more stubborn. (if they prove themselves to be right, I simply transfer the blame over to them. "But you didn't go over that in class...")
I am also watching anime. (Noir and Cowboy Bebop) My friends have been obsessed for long lengths of time and I have resisted without much effort until Julian came along. Julian is someone I want as my best friend. Suddenly, after he sang Disney and Broadway tunes on the bus, talked about what anime shows he liked, and sounded perfectly okay with the prospect of wearing eyeliner, not to mention lending me Fight Club, I am interested in anime. God. I'm shallow. I'm so easily swayed by impossibly cool members of the opposite sex. At least my friends are happy enough to lend me DVDs.
Other highlights:
- saw my first bong. It smelled like the elevator at the community college.
- found out I am rich, apparently, for living in this town.
- colored the handle of my color guard saber purple with purple triangles.
- been told that I "have a distorted sense of reality".
- mentioned "My Angry Vagina".
- made many pairs of earrings.
- received my brown belt in karate.
- demanded a cell phone.
- talked to a goth poseur who talked about how annoying wannabe-poseur poseurs are.
- have done fantastically bad for me in French, yet and am considering going on a French exchange trip.
- wore a unitard and corset.
I am also a freshman. Only three more years until senior year.
